I watched the concert version of Les Mis. It was a wonderful performance; I thought it was really well done. I love the music in particular. Since the show was in concert version, a full orchestra was heard and seen. There was also a large choir. This show was the most technologically advanced than all of the other shows we have watched. A full orchestra was not seen or heard in any of the other shows we have watched up to this point. I also think that the plot was more developed than in the other shows.
Les Mis debuted on Broadway in 1985. This is the latest of the musicals we have watched so far. The show reflects the idea of the megamusical- big entertainment. A lot of money was put into making the show. The audiences want big, elaborate sets and costumes and this is what directors want to give them.
